After not being able to find a master engraver who could engrave on an uneven surface, I began to learn how to engrave.

Second attempt in making the base to hold the movement mechanism, revised to allow for a secret compartment to hold the key for the mechanism. The layering of the ply wood panels will also hopefully be picked up in the Aluminium cast.
The ABS plastic 3d printer at work. A second attempt at the stem of the handle which was re-designed for a smooth motion as it rotates. This will be cast out of an Aluminium and bronze alloy.

The handle to the mechanism is final printed, now of to the fabricators we go and hopefully if all goes well we should have a handle forged out of gunmetal.
